Last week three of The Wye Inn’s management team along with other Managers from The Number Works Pub Company completed a Cellar Management course at Wye Valley Brewery.
In the day long course, Steve (Manager), Henry (Duty Manager) and Shaine (Assistant Manager) learnt all sorts about Cellar Management and the dispense of Traditional Ales.
The first part of the day was mainly focused on traditional ales starting with a VIP tour of the brewery with Managing Director Vernon Amor in which they learnt about brewing and history of traditional ales. This was followed by lesson in how to best prepare Traditional Ales for sale after they have left the brewery.
After lunch followed a lesson on Cellar Management as well as handy tips on how to pour a perfect pint every time! No excuses for these three anymore!
The knowledge they acquired on the course will be used to hopefully improve how we manage our cellar and in turn improve the drinking experience of all our customers!
Finally, all three would like to thank Wye Valley Brewery and in particular, Managing Director Vernon Amor for their hospitality and all round fantastic day.
